Churchill told questioners that the super-tax yielded sixty millions yearly, luit he <1 id not follow that a twenty-five per cent increase would yield fifteen millions more, as he could not estimate the effect of an increase upon incentive to save, re-investments and division of fortunes and difficulties of collection. -Mr Baldwin announced Parliament was proroguing on 22nd December. Asked whether he considered the issue of premiums bonds would assist the national finances. Mr Churchill said no money raising proposal would escape examination, hut it did not follow they would survive examination. Mr Kinloek-Cooke asked: ‘‘Have you an open mind on the subject?”
Mr Churchill: " I never close my mind on any question.” Mr Hare in answer to a question on the subject ol conferences being held on subject of possible British attempt to retain the Schneider C'up. said he hoped to he able to make a statement in a few days.
