Ts there to he found in this Dominion any man who can be viewed as the embodiment of all the wisdom and knowledge upon these still unsettled points, and capal('e of laying down defined lines of instruction ? Of course, there is not. for no such an infallible authority has ■been found anywhere in the universe. And the absence of such a leader in thought and action is no cause for lamentation, for uniformity, which is worshipped by our Education Department is a fetish, is the bane and most disfiguring blot upon our education system. Tt aims at recasting every mind in the same moult, flouts nature!, and destroys individuality. To put it another way, all the instructed are put through the same roller, and they all come out flat.
