ENGLISH FUTURISTS. TO-NIGHT ! TO-NIGHT ! To-night (Wednesday) at tlie Princess Theatre tin- English Futurists present their very high quality programme that will give patrons thorough enjoyment. Amongst the lengthy programme a series of new sketches will he given and Mr Joe Brennan, who has already made himself a popular favourite on the Coast will he seen in some new comedy cameos ; two of the funniest of which are “ Full of the Joy of Spring.” and a cameo of London life called “ Missing the Hus.” In the second half, a twenty minute comedy sketch will he played. "The Crystal Gazer.” in which Joe Brennan, as the ship wrecked sailor, scores with hearty laughter. “ Dismal Desmond ” has some fresh troubles to confide to his listeners, and will he seen in an eccentric dance. New songs will ho sung by Geo. Corelli, the popular operatic tenor, while dainty Ira Vanda and Ida Newton have new offerings. The whole show will comprise a riot of laughter that will send home patrons (Feliglited with the very fine entertainment provided.
PRINCESS 'I'IIKATBK—TO-.MOHROW The grand elocutionary and dramaticentertainment tendered by Miss Evelyn James and pupils as a benefit to the Hokitika .Mental Hospital wireless fund will lie held at the Princess Theatre tomorrow evening, doors opening at 7.30 and the curtain rising at 8. The entertainment consists of two parts. The first will he a charming costume play
"The Princess Tenderhcnrt,” which will unfold a pretty story with a radiant message. There are nine juvenile characters, and the play will lie enacted in two scenes. The final rehearsal is taking place to-day. and there is the promise of a very bright and entertaining production. The second part will consist of a diversified programme of special excellence, consisting of vocal, instrumental and elocutionary numbers. The performers almost entirely will consist ol prize winners at the Competitions at Gre.vmoiith and Hokitika, including M.ss Mildred Coburn, violiniste, who will make two appearances. Miss Coburn is not unknown here, and is sure of a cordial welcome. The programme of items includes a general variety ot pieces, and the audience will derive much pleasing entertainment from the offerings of the performers. ’I he orchestral music for the evening will lie provided by the Black Hand Orchestra, which will render special selections.
Popular prices will be charged and a large attendance is expected as excellent value will he given patrons. Seats may still he reserved for the dress circle.

SYNCOPATING SEE ”—FRIDAY
Corrinne Griffith, after several romantic productions, has got hold of another light comedy picture of the sort “Classified” made famous. The dainty Duse is due at the Princess T heatre on Friday in “ Syncopating Sue.” which New York audiences are greeting as her most finished performance on the screen. There were not many who disagreed when " Liberty pronounced Corinne the most beautiful woman in the world. T here will be few to challenge the advance reports that “Syncopating Sue ” is one of the best pictures First National has released in this season of sensational screen hits. Cast as a piano player in a music store, where she “plugs songs to attract the attention of wellknown vaudeville artists, Corinne gives a wistful yet comic portrayal ot a stage-struck young flapper, whose greatest desire is to see her name spelled out in the electric lights of Broadway. Dancing and singing, in and out of snappy situations, mimicking, emoting, cutting up antics like the flapper she plays, Corinne handles this part with even more finesse than she showed in “Classified,” which clinched her claim to highest histrionic honours. “ would-be.” Marjorie Rnmlioau. well-known stage star; Rockeliffe Fellowes, Lee Moran, Joyce Compton anil Sunshine Hart complete the cast. Richard Wallace, llal Roach veteran, directed. . A first-class supporting series will also he presented on Friday, including the first episodes of the new serin , “Fighting with Buffalo Rill.” and a good comedy. _____
