He says his Detroit backer, Rosowurno, will probably find another Giles intends to take a long rest. Kingwford-S'initli returned and brought his plane to a sate landing. He immediately announced he will make a second attempt at dawn tomorrow. The fliers had been only 139 minutes aloft. Air currents over the sea and Portland Bay shook the heavily loaded plane so violently that the pilot experienced the greatest difficulty in controlling the machine, and ho was compelled to dump eight hundred gallons of petrol, 40 miles out from Golden Gate. They sent radio messages before landing, saying the tail of the plane was faltering and the windshield sheltering the cockpit was “coming unstuck.’'
