The “New York World” prints tlio following Washington dispatch:—The statement of Sir Hugh Denison coincident with his resignation as Commissioner that he would submit recommendation to Mr Bruce, as the result of which, the entire system of representation in United States may be revised, was interpreted in diplomatic quarters here to-day ns signifying a move will be made to have Australia represented in the United States by a Minister, following the example of Canada and Irish Free State. Denison has informed friends in Washington on several occasions that be expected his Government to appoint an ouvoy with the rank of Minister to this country, and it is even reported that an assurance had been given him prior to assuming his post as Commissioner, that be would bo elevated to that rank in the not distant future.

ENDURANCE FLIGHT. SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4. The Spirit of California with Smith and Pond hopped off on an endurance flight at 7.35 this morning. The plane made an excellent getaway rising in twenty-eight seconds. The weather conditions are reported to be fine. ATTEMPT FAILS. NEW YORK, Dec. 4. The Spirit of California which left at 7.45 on the second attempt to establish an endurance record rerturned at 10.8. Smith in a. radio message jaid: ‘Returning to Mills Field again. LONG DRAWN OUT SUIT. OTTAWA, Dec. 5. Thirteen days before the opening of the war in 1812, United States seized the schooner Lord Nelson in Lake Ontario. She was auctioned for tl-r.-e thousand dollars and after the dose m the war, the former Canadian owners sued the American Government. During the hundred and filteen years litigation has leisurely proceeded and today the Washington Government has sent a cheque for 23,640 dollars, most ly interest, to the Canadian Government, which has now the problem to divide this amount among one hundred and twenty-five descendants of th r former owneis.

CANADIAN MONEY. OTTAWA, Doc. 1. The British Columbian Government has just sold a million dollars bond issue that will yield investors 4.42 oer cent. This is the lowest interest paid ,N fiy any Canadian Province since the war. The Canadian bond market s unusually strong and with times'good throughout Canada, money is plentiful. The income which Canadians reap from investments at home and abroad was recently estimated at fifteen million sterling monthly. A good portion of this seeks reinvestment. The Dominion Government recently financed war debt payment falling due by issue of four per cent Treasury notes sold to Canadian banks at par.
