HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2. The Board met at 4.30 p.m. Present—Messrs (r. A. Wood (Chairman), E. AY. Keenan. W. Ziegler, and A!. Houston. MOTION OF SYMPATHY. The Chairman referred to the death since last meeting of a fellow member, Mr C. J. Nightingale, who had proved a useful member of the Board and an excellent citizen. He moved that the Board place on record its deep sense of the loss sustained, and appreciation of past services and that these sentiments be conveyed to Airs Nightingale and family. Seconded hy Mr Ziegler and carried in silence, members standing. SPECIAL .MEETING.
The Auditor-General forwarded the annual balance sheet lor the year ended :mth September. 192 G, duly certified to without any tags.- Received; the Chairman to sign same as settled. It was resolved to have same printed as usual.
ORDINARY MEETING The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARM CORK ESI’O ND E N C E. From Mrs Nightingale acknowledging letter of sympathy.—Received. From Government Statistician asking for returns.— Received. From Treasury acknowledging receipt of application lor renewal ot bonds.—Received. Accounts amounting to £37 8s (id were passed for payment. •It was resolved that portion of the wharf near the transit shed he tailed and sanded. It was resolved to enquire from the Fire Board as to whether the manual lire plug on Gibson Quay is requited and if not, that another timber skid site bo leased. The Board then rose.
