Howe earned an ovation for his line not out three-ligure innings. New South Wales opened sensationally, the first four wickets falling for 17, llornibrook and Harwood taking every advantage of the pitch and doing great execution. Kippax and Watson stopped the rot for a time, and Oldlield made a good showing, hut otherwise the visitors proved an easy prey to the howlers. New Sou tit Wales is in an unfortunate position, as under the rules, play must end alter two hours’ play on Thursday morning.
