In the Commons, Mr Baldwin, questioned with reference to his own speech on the subject of the renewal of relations with Russia, an id that this did not elicit any response from Russia, and he did not propose to take other steps in the matter. Ylr Wedgwood: “In view of the interests of trade, could not steps he taken to bring about desirable arrangement.”
Mr Baldwin: “I have adumbrated the conditions under which wo "ere prepared to consider a resumption of relations. When these are acceded to, it will he possible to make progress, not otherwise.”
Ylr Wedgivood: “Would it not lie possible to open negotiations in view of the state of our own trade?” Ylr Baldwin : “'We have not had any assurance that the Russian Government has ceased to interfere in our internal affairs.”
