RUGBY FOOTBALL. LONDON, Nov. 20. Warntalis beat \\ aies by IS points to 8. The Wnratahs team wiis as follows: Ross, E. Ford, Wallace, Shelian. King. Lawton, Meagher. Woods, Blackwood, Judd, Finlay. Storey, Brocken ridge, Ford and Tanercd. WA KATA FIS DEEKAT WALES. (Received this day at 8.30 a.m.) LONDON. Nov. 27. The Wnratahs thoroughness in their second international victory lolt no room for doubt in their success against Ireland. The game was furiously fought and was fast and interesting throughout, but the Wnratahs Were definitely superior. Their hack play showed remarkable improvement, due to Wallace playing on the lolt wing instead of Bowers and King displacing Towers at centre. Weak handling whereby they had previously lost many points, was conspicuously absent. The forwards retained tehir fiery hardworking and were brilliantly notable throughout.
Wales got an equal share of the ball from tbe scrums. The visiting hacks wore sufficiently strong on the defensive to counter this. There were thirtylive thousand spectators and the conditions wore good. I’lay started fast and exciting, the hall swinging from end to end. A fine dash by Jack Ford ended in Wallace scoring a brilliant try, Hawton converting. Lewis then started a forward rush lor the home team, wherefrom Roberts scored an unconverted try. At half time the score was 5 to 3.
The tourists dashingly opened the second half with a series of rapid movements, wherefrom Sheehan scored, Lawton adding the extra points. Uncertain handling, which was Wales’s worst fault, spoiled a great opportunity Rov Jones dropping the hall after crossing the line. Sheehan, the guiding spirit, added two startling tries inside of two minutes. He cross-kick-ed to Erie Ford, who gathered in at top speed, King taking a perfect inside transfer and scoring between tbe posts.. Lawton converted. Sheehan again kicked up field and Wallace sprinting, got possession and scored at the corner. Lawton’s kick bit the cross liar. Wales now had a full share of the ball and pressed bard. Lewis scoring and Rees converting, just before the finish.
The result was justified and accurately showed the difference between the teams. Wales sadly missed the Cambridgeite Rowe-I larding, the threequarters lacking pace and combination. The forwards hold their own in the line-outs.
