A motion of Sir Robert Stout for a return to he furnished giving details of expenses of tho High Commissioner’s Office was vetoed by 25 to 8. Coalmines Amendment Bill was put through the final stages and passed with technical amendments. Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill was put through the final stages and passed, with an amendment providing that motor vehicles plying for hire between two terminal points situated within the
districts of different local bodies, shall he subjected fo charges made by each body, but not by the intermediate districts contributory. The Negligence Bill was read a second time. The. Council adjourned at 4.52 p.m. until next day. TITE HOUSE.
