THEFT OF WHISKY.
NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 23. Horace Alfred Tweed ale. wlio was arrested on the Maheno at Auckland, when leaving for Sydney on August stli., was charged with theft of a motor tv re and breaking, entering a railaV goodshed at New Plymouth, and stealing eight cases of whisky, and with receiving whisky knowing it had been stolen, was found guilty of receiving in the Supreme Court to-day. He was acquitted on the other two charges, granted two years’ probation and ordered to pay not less than £25 a year for two years’ Towards the costs of the prosecution. A' .-used was alleged to have disposed of whisky to a sly grogger in the King Country.
