PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY
CHRISTCHURCH. Nov. 23.
At. the Presbyterian general Assembly to-day. a proposal to admit women as Elders of the Church aas carried by a large majority. The proposal must be considered by the separate Presbyteries again under the Barrier Act before becoming a law of the Church, but already many have intimated approval.
