THE COUNTRY BEYOND —T( f-NIOHT.
In Fox Films’ version of "The Country Beyond,” which will be showi :iL the Princess Theatre to-night, J I'arrell .MacDonald impersonates Sergeant Cassidy of the Royal Northwest .Mounted Police. He is a striking figure in his picturesque costume, absolutely correct to the minutest detail. it was thoroughly inspected by members of the Mounted in Jasper National Park, Alberta, just as he went before the camera. But AtacDonald does not wear his uniform throughout the play, lie appears in civilian blue serge in a sequence that takes him to New York where he goes in search of Valencia, the Krench-Can-adian girl impersonated by Olive Borden, star of the drama. “ The Country Beyond.” is Fox Films version of James Oliver Curwood’s novel of the same name. This splendid romance of adventure is of such general interest that it has continued to he one of the best-selling of all this writer's works. The film version is said to lie a splendid picturization of the action and characterization of the book. Exteriors of " The Country Beyond ” were filmed in the virgin forests of the Canadian Rockies under the direction of Irving Cummings and some of the most gorgeous panoramic views over seen on the screen are the natural backgrounds for the Fox Films players who appear in the romantic and powerful cinema. In the east with Miss Borden and MacDonald are Fred Kohler. Lawford Davidson, Evelyn S'elbie. Ralph Graves, Alfred Fisher and Gertrude Astor.
The usual good supports will .also he shown, including the latest in Topicaland comedies.
