ANNUAL MEETING OF COUNCIL

WELLINGTON, Nov 21
The annual meeting of the New Zealand Council of the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Assn, was held to-night. Mr MeVilly congratulated the meeting on the fact that assets exceeded liabilties hy £383 12s 3d. Speaking on the R. A. Rose Trust Fund, Mr MeVilly said that on Sept. 30th. 1927 there was a balance of £1,050 15s Id, and that the hulk of the amount had been placed with the Public Trustee on deposit for 5 years at 5J per cent, per annum. The following resolution was passed : “That the standards for the 880 yards cycle (hanked track), 1 mile cycle (grass and hanked tracks) and 3 miles cycle (grass and banked tracks) he altered from GOsecs., 2mins 30sec-s., 2mins 15 secs., Bmins and 7mins respectfully to 59socs.. 2inins 15sces.. 2inins 2secs., t mins 30secs., and 7mins 40secs respectfullly. M essrs I'. W. MeVilly and L. A. Tracey were appointed to represent the Association oil the Athletic Board of Control, to he held in Wellington. According to rotation, the 1928-29 track and field championships were allotted to the Wellington Centre. The New Zealand cross-country championships were allotted to the WangamiiTarnnaki Centre. The following officers were elected: Patron. Sir Charles Fcrgusson; President. Mr R. W. MeVilly; Vice-Presi-dents: Mr G. H. Lusk and H. .T. Austad ; Delegates to Olympic Council: Messrs G. H. Lusk, A. W. O. Traves; Hon. Auditor, Mr R. W. Shallcrass; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr L. A. Tracey; Administration 'Committee: Messrs R. W. MeVilly, H. W. Franklin. L. A. Tracey: Finance Committee: Messrs R. W. MeVilly, H. \V. Franklin, R. Connop: Reinstatement Committee: Messrs V. Hugo. E. G. Guy. H. I. Austad; Overseas Representatives: England, Dr A. E. Porritt; South Africa. Mr Ira G. Emery; U.S. Messrs C. G. Krogness (sen. and pin.)
