LOCATED IX COOK STRAIT. AVELIdXGTOX. Nov. 10. To-day llic Government .steamer Tntanekni located in Cook Strai*l an area of foul ground with at least- one rock carrying only 00 feet of water over it at. low water spring tides. This is a locality that must he avoided by de-cp draught. ' vessels. Its area is given as (it) feet south-west and northeast and 40 feet east and west. The shoal i, close to the 178 fathoms mark shown on chart 095 of Cook Strait. The filial rippling extends half a milein a south-west to north-east direction from the shoal on both the ohh and Hood streams. Both streams aie irom Ihours to two hours later than the Tory Channel entrance stream. A notice to mariners will he issued hy the Marine Department to-morrow.
