(liy Telegraph—l’er Press Association.) THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON. Nov. 8. In the House which met at < .30 p.lll. the Prime Minister announced that the Government was not prepared to recommend to Parliament that salaries o! members be increased, but would take steps to increase the number of steamer tickets issued to members travelling between North and South Islands. Sir Geo. Hunter moved the second reading of the Gaming Amendment Hill, which was opopsed by the Labour Partv. An amendment moved by Air Armstrong that the bill be read that day six months was defeated by 2s to 2L The debate tben continued till 3 a.m. when a division on tbe second reading wav reached. This was agreed to liy 20 to 11 and at :U0 a.m. the House rose till 2..‘1() this afternoon. Tt is not expected that the Bill will re-appear this session.
