(Bv Telegraph—Per Press Association. CARTERTON, Nov. 5. Regarding daylight saving Clare ville School committee decided to opei their school this week irom 10 till J SIR TRULY KING’S COMMENT. WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. With the advent of Daylight Saving Sir Truhy King issues a message it which he says:— It will prove one of the most popular and beneficial measures up to the present adopted for the social advancement of the community. Health i> the foundation of health and happiness.

He looks upon daylight saving as an important contributing factor towards the efficiency and prosperity of the people anil ventures to say that not only the general health will he improved hut as a result, the period of life wil be extended.

They were all indebted to Mr Sidey. and as President of the organisation t express gratitude to Mr Sidey, he commends to the people of the Dominion the movement already established in a number of centres, the maximum subscription to which is one shilling. Where a committee is not to he set up. and the people wish to he associated with the movement, they should communicate with the secretary (.Mr Sltallcross) of the New Zealand Sports Protection League, Wellington. WELL TNG TON, Nov. 7.

So far as Wellington is concerned the weather betrays no inclination to regard the institution of daylight saving with favour. Yesterday was dull and uiiplejasant with rain always threatening, and to-day is worse with a drizzling rain. Mi- Sidey broadcasted an interesting address on the subject on Saturday night. The change over appears to have been effected without difficulty, though a slight aspect of sleepiness was visible on a few of the occupants of early trains this morning.
