Sir —If space allows would you kindly publish the following brief summary of the Railway Ball held on the 27th. ult. The gross takings from the Ball amounted to £22 7s Od, the Juvenile Ball £3 7s 3d, which together with a balance of £2 12s 3d brought forward from the previous Ball made the total receipts £2B Is Cd. The expenses (hall £4, supper £7 12s 3d, drinks £1 8s 6d, balloons and streamers £4 Os 2<l, advertising and printing £1 Is, sundry petty expenses £1 11 4d) amounted to £l9 13s 3d, leaving a balance of £8 8s 3d to he handed over to the Hospital Wireless Fund. It was expected that the Hall would have been allowed free for the good cause, but I understand the R.S.A. decided to levy full charge for the Hall and make a handsome donation to the Wireless Fund, themselves. Our sincere thanks are due to the Black Hand Orchestra for supplying the music free and also to those firms who kindly donated prizes for the novelty dances, etc. The Indies’ comiTrlttoe did wonderful work and their efforts largely contributed to the financial success attained. T am etc, AY. CRAW, Hon. See.
