BY TELEGRAPH —TO ESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. CRICKET COMMENT. LONDON, Nov. 3. It has been disclosed that the choice of Sutcliffe's captaincy of Yorkshire was carried hv 13 to 11, the minority including Lord Hawke, who opposed restoring Sutcliffe to amateurism, which was decided by 10 to 5. Hobbs raises the question why Rhodes was not chosen, hut Rhodes intimated he did not want the captaincy. Already a suggestion has cropped up why should not Sutcliffe captain England's side in Australia in 1028. The Australian Board of Control has not yet advised the M.C'.C. of the decision to play one test in Brisbane. One of the highest authorities states it is unlikely that M.C.C. will object as feared by Australia. The M.C.C. could safely leave Australia to arrange the most advantageous terms for both countries.
