Rockfeller, Junr., contributed 530,0C0 dollars to an international fund for the rebuilding 'of the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre at Stratford. Plans are also announced to increase the United States contribution to one million dollars by January, 1928.

MISTRIAL DECLARED. IN U.S. GRAFT CASES. (Received this day at 9.30 a.in.) WASHINGTON, Nov. 2. Justice Siddons declared a mis-trial in the Fnll-Sinelair trial and discharged the jury. Government counsel thereupon declared they would immediately move for a re-trial which will probably he held in January. Judge Siddons made a short address when the Court opened, emphasising the gravity of the charges. He declared counsel on both sides had unanimously agreed that a mistrial was the only possible solution. The Judge further stated that the wide' publicity given the four affidavits mentioned yesterday, alleging the jury were being tampered with, furnished an additional reason for his decision. He also advised Juror Kid well of the fact that two affidavits made charges involving him, which he was at liberty to examine. Sinclair entered the courtroom jauntily. smiling. Neither Sinclair nor Fall showed the slightest emotion at the decision. Ividwell remained in the courtroom when the other jurors left. Ho was pule and agitated. At first lie refused to talk to the reporters, hut later lie denied the statements attributed to him. Kidwell was called within half an hour after the adjournment before tbe Grand Jury which was sitting in another room investigating the charges. 'The entire jury will testify before the Grand Jury. The spokesman told the Government counsel that they felt placed under a cloud and wanted a vindication. Counsel replied that the integrity of ten of their number was unquestioned, hut disgraceful things had happened and their help was needed.
