(Australian it N.Z. Cable Association.) PEDLARS’ BRAAYL. NEW YORK, Oct. 30. Two Italian fruit pedlars collided on the slippery pavement in Chicago, and leaped from their trucks la fight it out with their fists. The next motor ear behind crashed into their wreck, killing two aged occupants, later identified as John .T. Mitchell. Chicago’s wealthiest and most prominent hanker, and his wife. They were hurrying to the funeral of a friend, carrying wreaths, which their lifeless bands still grasped, when they were taken from the wreckage.
PR ESI DENT COOLI DOE. XEAY YORK, Oct. 30. A canvass made by the New York “AA'nrld” among members of the Republican National Committee shows their prevailing sentiment is for President Coolidge. Of forty who replied, 45 per cent, did not take Air Coolidge’s statement, “I do not choose to run,” as final. Thirty-five per cent, favour him. but believed he was definitely out of the race. Others were non-commit-tal.
