Chamberlain on the occasion of King Fuad’s visit. - In view of the death of Zaghlul, importance is ataclied to the visit. Fuatf r meets Sir A. Chamberlain on Monday! GALE DISASTER, LONDON, Oct. 31. More than twenty lives were lost in a gale in England in the week-end. There were accidents of all descriptions. Telephone and telegraph wires are down everywhere affecting broadcasting and beam. Sea defences broke down at Fleetwood, where the streets were flooded. Five persons were drowned and many homes destroyed. People slept in schools and cinemas. The river Lunc overflowed its banks and flooded Lancaster Isolation Hospital, and three tuberculosis patients sleeping in the grounds were drowned. Six houses were unroofed at Blackpool. Later details of the Coast gale disaster show it was the worst in the history of western fishing fleets. Between thirty and forty fishermen perished in three distinct disasters. Eight boats from Cleggan Bay fleet were wrecked and 16 drowned. live boats from Inniskea Island and 8 drowned four boats from Lackan Bay and ten were drowned. Several other craft are unaccounted for. It appears the boats caught the full fury of an eighty-mile gale and were buffeted by tempestuous seas, the crew of some being battered to death against the rocks, and others swamped.
