WATAROA SPI-MXG SALE. Messrs Al. Houston and Co. report— The annual spring sale of cattle was held at the above yards on Wednesday last, the* entry of cattle from South Westland being much smaller than usual. There was a large attendance of buyers and competition was very keen for all grown lines of steers and heifers, with the result that prices ruled very high, top price being obtained by Messrs Eggeling Bros, of Okuru. for a pen of 3-year-old steers which realised I*ll l(!s. We sold as follows—On account o! 11. Hevelilt, of fat sheep at 2bs fid On account of Harris Bros. 5 2-yr. steers at £6 ”s Gd, b at £8 2s Gil; 5 2-yr. heifers at £6 las, 3 at £7 lbs. On account of Nolan Bros. 12 3-yr. bullocks at £9 lbs, 1 stag at £b 17s fid, 2 fat heifers at C 7 17s fid, 1 fat cows at £b, b fat heifers at CO. On account of Eggeling Bros. 7 3-vr. old bullocks at £ll 10s, b at CTO 17s Gd. b at £lO 10s. On account of R. Gunn, b cows at £7, 1 at Cb, 3 12-mos. steers at £3 2s (id. 1 heifer at £3 10s.
