TJ.S.A. ADMIRAL. WASHINGTON, Oct. 27. Another incident, similar to the reprimand given to Admiral Sims following on bis speech in London a few years ago. has occurred with the relief of Admiral Alagruder. who visited Australia with the U.S.A. Eleet in 1925, n.s Commander of the Fourth Naval District, at Philadelphia, with orders to report to Air Wilbur, Secretary of the Navy, as the result of a controversy precipitated by Admiral Afagruder’s published and oral criticism of the naval establishment.
Admiral Alagruder declared that the navy was over organised, and that a largo percentage of its appropriations were wasted.
Secretary Wilbur asked for an explanation, but the criticisms continued. The measure taken is not disciplinary, but Admiral Alagruder sent a letter to President Coolidge protesting against Secretary A\ ilbur’s order and requesting an interview with the President. He also expressed a hope that the order would be revoked. Admiral Magroder has only four years to servo before Lis retirement,
