AY. P. (Spencer. Referring to teachers right of appeal, a circular was received from the Education Boards’ Association, ask ing for details of cases that were lik'-ly to he quoted against the Board. I The secretary’s reply was approved, and it was resolved to invite representatives of the various Institutes to send deputations to the Board, which would bo pleased to explain its procedure when the grading list was departed from. It was further resolve'! to express appreciation of ibe Minister’s statemenl in Parliament that lie regarded it. tin necessary to introduce legislaion providing for a teachers’ right of appeal. The Education Department wrote suggesting that junior positions becoming vacant front now on until the end of the year lie filled by relieving touchers, until new students were available. Tt was resolved to paint out that the suggested method would hardly overcome the difficulty of the unemployed teachers at the beginning of the year. The Department advised that it had been agreed to grade the schools - a the attendances for the lour quart - vs ending September instead of December. The West. Coast attendance officer reported having visited thirteen parent*; and having notified fifteen.
