BOY’S SUICIDE. AUCKLAND, Oct. 21

Allan Terence Watkins, aged thirteen, a pupil of Kawhai Junior High School, was found hanged in a shed at the hack of his home, this afternoon, after returning from school.

Deceased lived with his parents at -Mount Eden. He was of a bright disposition, and was well liked by his schoolfellows.

HEATLICOTE TRAGEDY. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 21

The body of Alexander Edens, aged 7, the youngest of the three boys who lost their lives when a punt in which they were paddling capsized in the Heatlicote River, at AA'oolston, on Afondny, was recovered to-day at the place where the tragedy occurred. Constable Rowe, of Phillipstown, made a final search this morning with a drag hook and brought the body to the surface. The news was received just as the funerals of t:i other two victims were being held.

CHURCH RADIO. AUCKLAND, Oct. 21

With the object of organising a Radio Broadcasting Station with a tower similar to that of 1 Y.A. an Anglican Broadcasting Association of New Zealand has been formed in Auckland, and duly incorporated with Archbishop Avcrill as Patron. The station will be used entirely for broadcasting Church of England services, religious instruction and music. The installation expenses are estimated at eight thousand pounds. SLIP ON OTIRA LINE. GREYAIOUTH, Oct. 22. Rain fell all night and continuing early this morning, there was a slip on the railway at Jacksons, delaying traffic on the Otira line four hours. Despite tho rain, the rivers are falling, and there is no flood damage at present.

HAMMER STATE FORESTS ABLAZE CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 22. Julies Pass Hotel was destroyed by fire at- Hanmcr last evening.

The sparks blew into the plantation and this morning several thousand acres of the State Forests were reported to he ablaze, fanned bv a strong norwester.
