(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.. Oct. 21. Semi-finals of the Manawatu Golf Championship were contested at Hokowliitu links this morning in dull weather, hut the high gale of yesterday had abated materially. Contests for final honours lay between two visitors and two home reps, the latter prevailing in both instances. Keeling defeating Black (Hutt) 0 and 5. and Select aeoeunted for Birth (Shannon) 2 and 1. Black failed to produce his usual form and had to sacrifice two strokes at a critical stage through lost halls, whereas his opponent was steady throughout. Sefert was brilliant in approach putting, and his work assisted in a large measure to the defeat of this younger, higly-promising player.
