"Broken Laws ” deals with mother-love and the necessity lor law ohservanee on the part of citizens. It is not a preachment. however, but a virile, throbbing drama of to-day which will interest anyone. It points the way to better citizenship .and clearly outlines the necessity of teaching children the obedience and to have respect for the constituted laws of the hind. Recently in the Philadelphia Juvenile Court fourteen boy bandits appeared before Judge Gorman in a single day. The oldest of the fourteen was but twelve. The court declared that it was " dreadful ” and " incredible" that such conditions should exist. " Investigation into such incidents." Mrs Reid declares. “will reveal a lack of respect for the law on the part ol the children's parents. In ‘ Broken Laws, we have attempted to show Jiow serious the growing disregard for law is becoming, and how it vitally allects our children.” One ol the finest casts in years interprets this exceptional Master picture. Included are Mrs Wallace Reid, Percy Marmont, Ramsey Wallace. Arthur Rankin, Jacqueline Sa unMel's. Yiringia Lee Corbin. Pat Moore, and Jane Wray. There is interest tor everyone in " Broken Laws. and yet no one can see it and not come away better citizen. Plav-goers ol Hokitika are looking forward eagerly to this latest and greatest of Mrs Wallace Reid's productions. A good topical, two-reel comedy and further chapters of the " Winking Idol" (serial also will he screened. On Saturday next Norma Shearer in " The Waning Sex.'
