BOXING.
(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 20. At the Stadum Trowern (9.11 J) knocked out Ackworth (9.81) in the sixth round of a fifteen round contest. The New Zealander’s cyclonic attack floored Ackworth twice in the first round. His over eagerness spoilt the chance of a knock-out. Trnwern’s attack in the second round staggered his opponent and missing a wild swing he fell through the ropes. The New Zealander continued to force the pace in the third round, but the Australian’s cautious boxing nullified his attempts to score. Ackworth was floored again in the fourth round with a right to the chin. He took heavy punishment throughout the fifth. Two rights to the jaw dropped Ackworth for nine in the sixth, when tho referee intervened and awarded the decision to Trowern.
