BOLD HEAD .STOCK SALE. Yesterday afternoon in the above yards Messrs W. Jeffries and Co held their usual spring fixture when 00 head of cattle were submitted for auction. Tliero was a good attendance of south buyers and competiI tion was keen. The wonderful season for grass combined with the knowledge that there is a genuine shortage of good framed beef stores helped to make the prices equal if not better than those recorded the previous day at Arahura. Good forward bullocks (two lots) made to £ll os while 2f to 3 year steers made from £7 17s Gd to £8 10s. Forward heifers made to £B. There was a. total clearance at what must be considered highly satisfactory prices. The following sales were made:—For J. Manera 2 heifers at £B, 1 at £7, 1 at £5, 1 at £4, 4 bullocks at £ll os, 2 at £7 17s 6d, 7 at £6, 3 at £ll os, 6 at £7, 6 at£B 10s, 1 at £.5; for W. Henderson 1 heifer at. £0; for J. Martin 6 cows at £5 10s; for Trembath Bros. 14 steers at£s 2s 6d • for A. Gardiner 2 steers at £4, 3 dry cows at £3 19s 6d; for Mrs E. Chinn 16 steers at £6 12s 6d; for J. Manera jnr. 9 steers at £8 10s, 1 cow at £1 10s; for a client 6 oows at £6 10s, 10 steers at £5 2s 6d.
