(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) .U.S.A. COURTS DECISION. WASHINGTON, Oct. 17. The United States Supreme Court has rendered an important decision, upholding injunctions which were issued hv the Lower Courts, restraining trades union employees from resorting to certain acts in futherance of strikes. Several cases were decided thereby. The cases in one group were those involving the efforts by Mr .Tolin Lewis the President- of the United Mine Workers of America to conduct a campaign to unionise the coal mines of West Virginia. Tlio Court declared legal certain injunctions which had been issued restraining tlie Union from Hjliroateninpj 'employees of non-union..mines or from interfering with the business of these mines. Other groups involved several union tramway workers, who were charged with having attempted' to persuade tramway' employees to strike and stay on strike. The Unions attached constitutionality of these injunctions, on the ground that they interfere with the efforts to secure further members for their organisations.
