"Men of the Xight ” is a sterling Picture, the first one made by Sterling Productions, Inc., for distribution through the Sterling Pictures Distributing Corporation. Its story concerns a sweet old lady reduced by poverty to selling papers tor a living, and two crooks wlm employed her as a shield against the police at their alleged “Art Shop,” in reality a loneo where they disposed of the jewels they stole, A strong affection springs up between the younger thief, a man of good instincts led astray by the stronger nature of Rupert Robb, his partner. It fits him almost as well as that of Tommy in Jiarrie’s “Sentimental Tommy,” in which he clinched his reputation as a screen actor of juvenile leads. Lucy lleaiimont acts the role of his adopted mother, giving an absorbing and beautiful characterisation of mother love. Wanda Hawley is the girl, Herbert Rawiiiisiin. the older crook, and .lay Hunt, one of his accomplices. Mathilde llrundage is the Lady Broderick. .Miss Hawley has the sort of sympathetic role in which the public likes her. .Mr Rnwlinsou’s role calls upon him for acting of a particularly vivid and powerful type. A topical and comedy complete the display. On Friday Mrs Wallace Reid in '• lirokon Laws.”
