A strong effort was made to induce tho Minister to impose a high duty on imported iron in order to assist Onakalta iron but the amendment was defeated by 37 to 28. Classes XT. NIT. XTV are passed, XTTt being postponed. Tho House rose at 1.10 a.m. till 2.30 p.nt.
