HOT-WATER- ATTACK. TOKfO, Aug .28. There has been a serious ChineseJapanese clash at the Pcnkitou coal mine in Manchuria, where the Chinese miners, inspired by Coinmunitss, presented wild demands and became riotous when the demands were refused. They attacked the Japanese management, throwing scalding water on the chief engineer, who died. Two companies of troops and police battled lor an hour with the rioters, driving them into Pcnkifu, where the inhabitants are protecting them. The damage totals £50,000. The shops in Pcnkifu are closed and the schools are suspended. The Japanese casualties number .1 score, including the commander of the troops, who may die. JLiie Chinese had four killed and 35 seriously wounded. Bandit and Communist activities are reported to he increasing along the lino of the South Manchurian Railway.
