APPEAL COURT

BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSN., COPYRICHT. WELLINGTON. Oct. 13. Tlio Appeal Court (Justices Sim. Herdiman, Reed, Adams and Ostler) was occupied in hearing an application by the Law Society to have Frederick Coles Jordan struck off the rolls as a solicitor on the ground of unprofessional conduct in connection with the preparation of a mortgage on behalf of William Wolf, of Auckland, to a man named Taylor. It is alleged the mortgage was really intended for the purpose of defeating certain creditors of Wolf. The case is proceeding. Sir J. Findlay for Jordan submitted the young man bore a clean reputation in Auckland. He submitted the evidence showed lie had beei frank about the whole matter and was unlikely to sacrifice his reputation and practice when only receiving an ordinary conveyancing fee in case, of about five pounds. Decision was reserved.
