(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association. IR IS H (PARLIAMENT. (Received this dnv at 1.30 p in.) LONDON, Oct. 11. At the opening of the sixth Dail, the galleries were crowded but there were no scenes similar to those before the general election. Finnna Fail members again took the oath.
V[ r Cosgrove was re-elected by 70 votes to 70. There were no other nominations, all the Farmers and Independents supporting (Mr Cos-, grave, Labour and Finnna Fail opposing him. Redmond and other National Leaguers abstained from voting.
Professor Hayes was re-elected Speaker amid applause from all sides, though De Valera, unsuccessfully proposed to reduce the present salary of £I7OO to £IOOO.
Mr Blythe informed Mr Redmond there was no chance of a repeal of the Public Safety Act.
