The National Rifle Association meeting opened yesterday on the LiTorpool range in excellent conditions, resulting in an exceptional-number of hull’s eyes. Over a thousand rillemen are camped on the range, including a squad of New Zealand’s best shots. The meeting started with the li series matches, in which a number of New Zealanders
com peted. In the Vickers Match, seven shots at five hundred yards, McDotigall (Victoria) topped the list with a possible. The New Zealanders Powell (34) and A. Ballinger(33) won pound prizes in Die Symons Match, seven shots at six hundred yards, Hopton (N.S.AV.) was top with 35, A. Ballinger and Robertson (Okaiawu) each 31 took pound prizes. SYDNEY. Oct. 11. The Hangar, 200yds. was won by A. Black (N.S.AV.) with Boon (Kariri) second. the latter winning a £0 prize. The following New Zealanders won £1 each : E. E. Vennell. \Y. Green. J. Turnbull.
