Director Erie Kenton discovered it while seeking to do a scf|iience for lie be Daniels’ latest Paramount comedy, “ The Palm Beach Oiil." The scene called for the arrival of a fast boat loaded with burlapped packages, supposedly containing liquor. The movie bootleggers were to seize .Miss Daniels’ speed-boat, transfer their cargo and dash away with it. Things were proceeding as per schedule, when a policeman interrupted. After considerable argument, he was convinced the bottles contained less than one half of one per cent. He went away. In a short time a well-dressed man emerged from the shadows and inquired casually: "Flow’d you happen! to pick this dock ” They explained to him that the beauty of the place had lured the director. “That’s funny,’’ remarked the stranger; “this is the regular landing place. Say. did that cop believe the yarn about, the pictures? ” The assistant director assured him the cop was thoroughly convinced. “ Buddy,” lie replied. “ How mill'll can I buy a couple of them cameras for? That’s certainly a swell hunch.” A topical, scenic and comedy complete a fine display to-night.
