(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. INJURED IN CYCLE SMASH. CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. G. Through lis bicycle getting out of control while he was riding down a steep hill in Lyttelton, this morning. Richard .fames McKenzie, Health Department Inspector, crashed into a stonewall at the foot of the bill, and lie was picked up unconscious. He bad a severe gash on the face, a badly lacerated wrist and bead injuries. He was taken to tlie hospital. His condition Is serious.

Disapproval of the passing of the Summer-time Bill was expressed today by the South Taranaki Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union, which decided to disregard the measure by bolding monthly meetings at the usual standard time.
The president and several members declared that they did not intend to alter their watches, but to maintain the present time during summer. Tlie Secretary pointed out that as the meetings usually occupy two hours, from 11 o’clock, the effect of the resolution would be sitting from noon till 2 summer-time, but the meeting held to its decision.

The Italian Consul (Signor Nichc-le Blnnno) stated to-day that an increasing number of Italians bad departed from tlie Dominion, during the last few months, and, at tlie same time, with, the coming into force of the Fascist restrictions on emigration from Italy, a decreasing number may be expected to arrive in New Zealand. He added that Signor Mussolini looks with great disfavour on the emigration of Italians from their country.
