THURSDAY, OCTOBER Oth. MONTHLY MEETING. Tlio monthly meeting of the Society was held at the County Chambers at 7.00 p.m. Present:—Air G. A. Perry (President), Dr Teiehelmann, Messrs Garnet Perry, A. Nancekivell, R. J. Appleton. I{. Stuart, C. Berendt, AY. Bradilon, H. Paterson and D. J. Evans. The minutes of the previous meeting were confined, and the outward correspondence approved. Front T. E. Seddon, M.P.. forwarding letter from Minister of Public Works stating that matter of providing more relief work on Dorothy Falls track wits receiving consideration.—Received.
From Internal Affairs Department eti((uiring its to the number of prosecutions during the past five years in respect to breaches of the law. —Received. List compiled by Sergt. King to be supplied. From Internal Affairs Department stating that the Society's representations regarding stamping of opossum skins would have consideration when the regulations were again under review.—Received.
From same thanking Society for list of persons to whom permits to trap on occupied land had been issued.— deceived. The Secretary said some 20 permit's had been issued in all.
From same forwarding draft warrants for deer stalking season, and stating sum available for deer culling. —Received. From same stating it was not proposed to fix- a limit as to the number of deer taken in season in tlio Arnlmra and Kokatahi districts.—Received. From Post Office remitting £4 10s to credit of the Society for game licenses issued.—-Received with thanks. From State Forest Service notifying it was regretted payment could not be made for jaws in respect to deer ynlling under the County system.—Received. Tito Secretary stated “jaws” were arranged for in 1925, and tbe matter was being taken up witli Internal Affairs which made the former arrangement and paid out on jaws. A payment of about COO to tlio culler was involved.
From Otago Acclimatisation Society notifying despatch of 00,000 rainbow ova for Lake Kanieri hatchery.—Received.
From Grey District Society enquiring time when brown fry would be ready for liberation.—Received, information to be supplied in duo course. From Auckland Acclimatisation Society urging that a bounty of fid per head be paid for shags head, in view of the enormous amount of havoc done to fishing by shags.-—Received. The meeting concurred in the views expressed.
From Buller Acclimatisation Society stating it had been decided to enquire locally as to the effect of trout on whitebait, and the decision would be forwarded later.—Received.
From same acknowledging with thanks information supplied regarding liberation of pheasants.—Received. From T. M. AVallace, Ilerepo, and F. A\\ Gibb. AA'aiho Gorge, applying for fishing licenses.—Received.
From H. fl. Hetnyshreys, Rotorua, applying for three-gun block, Haast, for deer stalking, and forwarding deposit. £ls.—Received and filed for ballot.

From J. Downes, Receiver of Opossum Revenue, Hokitika, stating 12,532 skins bad been stamped to 20th September, with some lots to come.—Received. From various, publications with regard to acclimatisation work. Accounts to the amount of £‘27 13s wore passed for payment. The meeting closed at 8.15 p.m.
