LADIES AT PLAY” TO-NIGHT
Doris Kenyon and Lloyd Hughes are •starred in “ Ladies at Play” at the cess Theatre this evening together with of plot and variety of emotional appeal that ranges from light comedy to pathos mark “Ladies at Play,” a sparkling comedy-drama from First National, which is the feature offering at the Princess theatre this Friday. Doris Kenyon and Lloyd Hughes are featured with a cast of exceptionally strong supporting players notable among whom are Philo McCullough, Louise Fazenda, Virginia Lee Corbin, Jlallam Cooley, John Patrick and Ethel Wales. The story, an adaptation of a stage play by Sam Janney, was directed by Alfred E. Green, and made under the production management of the noted producer, B. P. Fiueinnn. A fast-developing plot deals with the inheritance by the heroine of six million dollars with the proviso that she marry a man who meets with tlie approval of her two spinster aunts. Inasmuch as the latter were expecting to share the fortune themselves, they determine to make the heroine’s task of finding such a man a hard one. To solve the situation, tho heroine deliberately compromises herself with a. man who unwillingly becomes her accomplice. The aunts, however, do not insist that she marry the man; they think such conduct should be punished by disinheritance! From the first flicker to the fade-out kiss, “Ladies at Play ” keeps the audience guessing. It’s not a mystery play, but a comedydrama with many plot kinks and surprises as well as laughs. It’s a FirstNational offering featuring Doris Kenyon, Lloyd Hughes and Louise Fazenda, and will be shown at the PrinPrinccss Theatre this evening. Novelty the latest in topiculs, a good comedy, and further chapters of the new serial “The Winking Idol.”
