LONDON, Oct. 4. “Always—always—will I remember the Australians and New Zealanders, with riflo and bayonet and very little else besides, each flinging himself like a wild cat on to the rocks at Gallipoli. I have never seen anything more splendid,” declared Sir lan Hamilton in ft speech at a dinner at the Savoy Hotel. At tlie dinner the British Instructional Films announced a production, under the auspices of the Admiralty ' and the War Office, of a film version of the Gallipoli campaign based on Raymond’s novel, “Tell England.” The Chairman was Mr John Buchan, ALP., and among those present were Australian and New Zealand representatives. Captain Unwin, V.C., of the steamer River Clyde, in proposing the toast of “The Anzac Contingent,” said: “The man who cannot speak about the Anzacs cannot speak at all. It may interest Australians to know that I had been on Australian stations before the war. It was then that I saw the country, and saw the men. I was nearer Paradise then than I can ever hope to ho. I know why the A.ustrnlians did what they did at the Dardanelles.” Sir R. Ryrie (Australian High Commissioner), in responding, recounted stories of the Australians at the Dmdanelles, and concluded: ‘The filmcan reproduce the spirt of the Dardanelles, hut it Is impossible to re, produce the Australians’ language.
