HARVEST PROSPECTS.
PERTH, Oct. 5. The Minister of Lands (Mr Troy) states he expects a harvest of thirtyfive million bushels, which is nearly' five millions in excess of last year. He says tho prospects were never brighter. The season has been marked by an excellent rainfall over all the State. The progress of land settlement and development is evidenced by the fact that an additional 2,177,000 acres of conditional purchase land has been taken up this year and the selection of ten million acres of pastoral country has been approved,
