SALE OF ARAHURA LAND

Much interest was evinced yesterday at Arahura Salevards in the auction sale of the properties offered on account of Air W. Olderog, the wellknown grazier. There was a representative attendance of farmers Irom the Valley and they keenly watched the proceedings. The first property offered was the Maori Block of 01 acres, being Native Leases of Pt. 20, Block 30, N.R. Arahura, good dairying land. Bidding opened at £lO per acre and rising to £l2 was purchased by Mr Arthur S. Havill.

Lot 2, being the freehold sections adjoining the Township of Kawhaka, and containing 171 acres and 24 perches, opened out at £2 per acre, and subsequently was sold at £375 to Air Win. Alills.

Lot 3 being the freehold sections at Fox’s containing 110 acres 1 rood 5 perches did not elicit a hid, hut negotiations are now pending for the purchase.

Lot 4, the Homestead Block of 35 acres 3 roods, Native Lease, highly improved with the Kawhaka creek sections 933 acres, freehold, was next offered. Bidding opened out at £IBOO and it quickly reached £2IOO at which figure it was passed, not reaching the owner’s reserve. An advance on this price has since been made and a sale is most probable.
