It lias been said that the finances .it the country will, not permit of the abolition of the company tax, but that is no justification of its continuance. The thing is utterly wrung, and wliat is wrong should not be allowed to continue in existence. It is quite possible to abolish the tax. and if the Minister of Finance were endowed with a creative faculty, or his officials of lifelong experience, and, according to the .Minister, given to seiions thought, applied themselves to the task and sought earnestly to justify his eulogism they should iio able to devise a scheme h> which a great wrong would he speedily righted.
