HOTEL VENTURE.

STEAMSHIP COMPANY INTERESTED. If the object of the visit of Mr J. Bcnnrdi, of Son Francisco, is achieved, Sydney in the near future will have one of the most up-to-date hotels in the world. Mr Bonurdi has been commissioned to make arrangements either for the erection ol a new hotel of the remodelling of an existing one in the city on a plan similar to the leading hotels in Europe and the United States. There will he about 3.50 rooms. The Matson Steam Navigation Company. which owns the most fashionable hotels in Honolulu, is interested in the venture. Mr Benardi stated that the hotel would probably be run in connection with the line, and he hinted that two modern steamers might then be placed in the Sydney-San Francisco service if the business warranted it.
