WARATAHS v. SWANSEA. (Australian & N.Z. Cab It- Association.) LONDON, Oct. 1. In the Rugby match the Waratahs defeated Swansea by 11 —0. Torrential rain fell when the New South Wales Rugby team met Swansea. The Welsh forwards held their own, but the homo backs were completely outclassed. The visitors crossed their opponents’ line three times, and they converted one of the tries before the interval. In the second half, the ground broke up, making it impossible to handle the ball accurately.
The Welsh revelled in the mud, and they kept the Waratahs busy defending, but the defence was too strong, and the game ended without further score, New South Wales 11, Swansea 0.
