EVERYBODYS’ PICTURES “VARIETY”-TO-NIGHT. THE WORLD’S GREATEST MOTION PICTURE EVER PRODUCED.
Tho greatest “make-up” artiste in the world. That’s what critics and fans are going to call Emil Hannings, the motion picture giant of Europe, after they have seen “Variety,” in which he is featured with Lya de Patti. ‘A ariety" ojieus on a scene in which .Tannings is shown—an old man disconsolate with life. He has been a prisoner for twenty long years, and is about to he freed. It doesn’t require much imagination to describe the way ho looks. Then as he tells his story to the warden, we “flash hack.” and •Tannings is seen as a young man Boss, the world’s greatest acrobat. On seeing the transformation, it will he hard to believe that both tire the same man. But then, when one remembers his portrayals in such films as “The Last Laugh,” “Passion” and “Quo Vadis” the thing seems more probable. It would appear that at last a challenger for the crown 1.,0n Chaney has worn so long has come out id' tho East. “Variety” will lie seen at the Princess Theatre to-night. Partners, Boss and Artinolli, the World’s Greatest Acrobatic Duo. Partners yet deadly enemies. For slim Artinolli has enticed away the soft, dark-eyed dancing girl with whom giant Boss is infatuated. .Boss and Artinolli whirling through their famous trapeze act at the mammoth Winter Garden 100 ft. above the audience.
