federal finance. MELBOURNE, Sept. 29. The Federal Treasurer. Mr Pngc, stated the amount paid in old aged and invalid pensions for the past year was £9,145,000 to 180,000 pensioners. The estimate for the last current year was £9,400,000. The postal revenue was £12,391,000, an increase of £742,362. It is proposed to instal automatic telephones in country centres. Regarding New Guinea lie announced with the exception of a few small lots the whole of the German expropriated properties had been sold for £3,345,000. An official valuation of the properties was £2,122,000.
