STEAMER SOLD. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 27. The sale of the Union Coy’s steamer Kokiri (formerly the Lauderdale!, m 1230 tons, to Madrigal Shipping Coy, of Manila, is almost completed. The vessel will probably leave' Tor the East within the next two or three weeks.
VICTORIA’S TRADE. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.\ VMELBOURNE, Sept. 2 1. For the year 1926-27 Victoria imported goods from overseas valued fit £55,598,000, and the exports amounted to £34,600,000 lenving an adverse trade bnlnce of nearly £21,000,000. To this must be added the interest on charges on money borrowed to enable these purchases to be made, amounting to £2,500,000. Mr Hogan, Premier, says he was lea to tkink that the production failed, the two main reasons being, profiteering by manufacturers and disloyalty people buying imported goods. SHOOTING FATALITY. ADELAIDE, Sept. 27. William Denman, aged 40, a woodcutter, was found dead in his house "Cottage Reynella,” shot in the throat. A gun was in his hands, -n the other side of the room was the body of his wife who was also shot.
